Who ever said that rings had to be made of metal? These Swarovski crystal oval rings are wonderfully
eye-catching and playful - and they're just begging to be made into chainmail.
This 18" necklace project appeared on page 38 of the Spring 2011 issue of Wirework Magazine.

The large rings in this design are tricky to close cleanly with normal pliers. I encourage you to get two pair of these "duck billed" pliers.
Approach straight from the sides of the ring to give those bills their best grip. I use these crazy pliers on anything heavier than 14ga.

There are an enormous number of color combinations that you could use for this project. I'm not going to list
every single possibility, just the two examples shown in the magazine. I encourage you to also look over the
options in the design-your-own sections below.

Choose Your Bead Color
The beads are sold in batches of nine - the correct count for this kit.
Please note that the first seven bead colors (Bermuda Blue through Volcano) have foil
on the back - silver foil for most of them and gold foil
for color "Dorado."

Choose Your Background Rings
These rings are the 12ga connectors plus all the "bubbles" grouped around each bead.
The clasp will also be this metal type.

Choose Your Accent Rings
These are the edge-on rings that cluster near the beads. There are two different sizes. If you
order any of the niobium color options on this page, the two sizes will
match in shade -- I'm anodizing them mixed together for these kit packs. If you
want to use a solid color not offered here, you can order from the
full list (get sizes 6:20nb and 15:18nb), but I can't guarantee
the shades will match. If you choose to use a color mix,
matching will not be an issue.
